About Watch D.O.G.S

Calling all Fathers and Father figures! Benignus Elementary is excited to be a part of the nationally recognized Watch D.O.G.S. program for the 2016-2017 school year. This is a program that encourages father involvement in our school. It is offered by the National Center For Fathering- additional information can be found at
www.fathers.com. Crissy Cornell is heading up this program with the help of our school representative Anne Francis.

Fathers who volunteer their time to Benignus through this program will spend the entire school day on campus for the purpose of providing an unobtrusive fathering presence and a positive and active role model for students at school. Fathers will spend their time during the school day working alongside teachers in the classroom, reading with students, assisting in dismissal, lunch duty and other fun activities as suggested by our administration!

First, all volunteers in KISD must have completed a background check.  If you haven’t completed yours yet, please click here and follow the instructions.  It’s simple and will take less than 5 minutes of your time.  Once you’ve completed that step, contact Ashlee Hamilton ashleehamilton.watchdogs@gmail.com .
She will provide information to get you signed up on the volunteer calendar, answer any questions and give you your Top D.O.G.S. assignment!  Stay tuned for additional sign up opportunities available the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. Benignus looks forward to welcoming all the father figures in our community throughout the school year
